Week 11 Burning the Candle at Both Ends...

As I mentioned in my last post, it has been crazy busy for me. It's been a harsh 3 weeks of trying to survive my workouts, when my energy levels are in the tank. What doesn't kill you, makes you stronger and as I start into week 11, I believe my body has adjusted to the extra demands I've placed on it. I still managed to meet or exceed all my programed weights each week, which I'm ecstatic with. My upper back work has even moved ahead, fed by a steady regime of rest/pause sets. The rest/pause I've made progress with for upper back training and RDL's. For front squats doing the rest/pause with a heavy weight just fucking sucks, so sometimes I do them and sometimes I just do normal sets. The pyramid sets I use for wide grip pullups, I've made zero progress on but my biceps have been taking a beating the last three weeks so I'm not surprised. Rest/pause with the sling shot for my bench is also in the zero progress category. This week on my day 1 bench press I switched from a MYO set to a rest/pause instead. On day 3 I'm going to drop the sling shot and switch to a rest/pause DB flat bench press. I stayed with the pause squat mainly because it involved no setup just squat down and pause. I've made progress on those also in the last three weeks. Deadlift I've stuck to my guns and just do the programmed weight and reps no extra. My lower back has taken a beating so I was happy to crack 475 of the floor last week and survive.
For the start of week 11 I increased my 1RM for the squat and deadlift by 10 lbs and military press and bench press by 5 lbs. The plan is a repeat of my last 3 weeks except I'll sub in or out rest/pause sets depending on how I feel in the gym that day. So far this week I've managed to PR my military press and squat. RDL's also felt awesome today and front squat well that just s...
If you have made it this far you might be wondering what the hell I've been up to. Well lots of manual labor, like building Allan block walls, building rock walls, building fences, moving tons of wheelbarrow loads of drive way chip and dirt, digging holes the list goes on....
