Deload so the volume and intensity is being dialed down this week, except for the bench press. This will be my fourth week of steadily increasing the weight and keeping the same rep and set scheme. I was able to increase another 10 lbs today and the weight felt explosive off the chest. The plan for bench training is to keep going up in weight till the end of week 10. Deload week 11 moving into the competition in week 12. Week 10 my goal is sets of 3 with 315 lbs fingers crossed.
Shoulders coming up for week 9,10,11 I'm looking at just placing them into maintenance mode for all these training sessions. This close I have no reason to push the weights when doing shoulders. The risk to benefit ratio is just not worth it.
With upper back I tried some wide grip pullups with a light weight strapped to me. Sticking with my previous technique, 1 explosive rep rest 5-10 seconds repeat for 10 reps total each set.
Did some supersets for my arm training nothing fancy. One thing to note here of interest, the volume and frequency of my arm training is down in the last two months and guess what....my arms have not decreased in size.
Tomorrow is my deadlift day and I will be working on dialing in my technique, more on why in tomorrows blog.
